The meeting on Wednesday, July11, 2001, was to determine additional interest in forming a CATIA Users Group. Attendees were from Thomas Nelson Community College and local companies: Siemens Automotive, Cooper Lighting, Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and independent consultants. Attendees, with the exception of the committee members, were different from the June meeting. This indicates that there is a large interest from the CATIA community! The agenda included an overview of the new Peninsula Work Development Center at Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) and its accommodations/resources, introduction of attendees, a presentation explaining the purpose and roles of a RUG and a workshop to officially name the group. After much thought and voting, the winning name was TACO - Tidewater Area CATIA Operators. This name will be in effect for one year, with the option of change, to reflect the groups geographical make up at that time. Request: If you have web page experience, contact Joyce. TACO can use the help in developing a site.
